MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said it had sanctioned 32,698 police officers between July 1, 2016, and Nov. 26, 2025, for violations of law enforcement rules.
Nine thousand twenty-seven officers were dismissed from the service, while 1,725 were demoted; and 15,311 were suspended following the resolution of administrative complaints during the said period, the PNP said in a statement.
The national police force particularly noted that, among the dismissed officers, 1,037 were involved in drug-related offenses.

Further, 1,221 police officers had their salaries forfeited; 4,355 were given reprimands; 528 were given restrictions; and 531 had some privileges as police officers withheld between July 1, 2016, and Nov. 26, 2025, the law enforcement agency added.
It did not provide a breakdown of cases per year nor detail what the nature of the administrative complaints was.
“The PNP assures the public that its internal disciplinary processes remain robust, transparent, and consistently implemented,” it stressed.
“These continuing efforts aim to ensure that the organization remains credible, dependable, and deserving of the people’s trust,” the PNP added.
