MANILA – The case fatality rate (CFR) for dengue has gone down this year, down to 0.26 percent per 100 cases as of Oct. 26, compared to 0.34 percent in 2023, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday.
“This is likely attributed to better health-seeking practices and improved health care delivery,” the DOH said.
As of October, a total of 314,785 dengue cases nationwide have been reported although the numbers have been going down.

“We see in our data that the number of deaths due to dengue is declining. But we should not be complacent because rains are continuing,” Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said.
