MANILA – For the third consecutive year, the Philippines has been awarded the Best Dive Destination in Asia at the Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards 2025, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced.
The Philippines was awarded the honor at the Paradox Singapore Merchant Court on October 7, and Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig represented the country on behalf of the Philippines Tourism Promotion Board (TPB).
Previously, the Philippines bagged the same awards in 2021, 2023, and 2024, “underscoring its leadership in Asia Pacific’s dive tourism sector,” the DFA said.

Additionally, the DFA emphasized that the event recognizes organizations that “exemplify excellence and innovation in Asia Pacific’s travel and hospitality industries.”

The winners of the Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards are decided through votes of readers and travel professionals in the Asia Pacific region.
Following this development, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore lauded the TBP for continuous promotion of the country’s marine biodiversity and underwater ecosystems, and for its role in advancing the global sustainable tourism industry.

Alongside the Philippines, Japan’s Universal Studios was recognized as Best Attraction, Sentosa Island bagged the Best Island Destination, Singapore received Best Destination Marketing, and South Korea was awarded Best Destination.
Back in August, the Philippines received an award as the “premier global diving destination” at the Diving Resort and Travel Expo in Beijing, China.
More notably, in 2024, the Philippines was hailed as the World’s Leading Dive Destination for the sixth consecutive year. /mr
