Please don’t boycott my film: Aamir

When asked about his thoughts on the "boycott Aamir" slogan brought forth by staunch nationalists, the star stated that it "hurts" him when people talk about boycotting the film.

DHAKA – Aamir Khan is returning to the big screen after four years with his new film, “Laal Singh Chaddha”. The film, directed by Advait Chandan, is set to be released on August 11th.

Aamir Khan spoke with the media about “Laal Singh Chaddha” just days before the release of his film. During a recent media interview, Aamir Khan was asked about his thoughts on the “boycott Aamir” slogan brought forth by staunch nationalists, after his comments in an old interview about India’s ‘intolerance’ re-surfaced. The actor was also asked to comment on the Twitter boycott of “Laal Singh Chaddha”.

When asked about the social media trend surrounding his upcoming film, the superstar stated that it “hurts” him when people talk about boycotting Bollywood and “Laal Singh Chaddha”.

“Yes, I feel sad. Also, I feel sad that some of the people who are saying this, in their heart, they believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India. In their hearts they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case. Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film,” said Aamir.

“Laal Singh Chaddha”, it is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film, “Forrest Gump”, featuring Tom Hanks.
