TOKYO – Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi returned to Japan on Tuesday evening after visiting Vietnam and Australia.

“It was a meaningful trip, as we were able to agree on promoting concrete cooperation under the evolved vision of the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP),” Takaichi posted on X on the day.

Takaichi also said she was able to confirm cooperation with Vietnam and Australia regarding a stable energy supply and the diversification of supply chains amid the situation in the Middle East.

“This was an important achievement for the procurement of petroleum products and essential goods in Japan,” she wrote.
