Representatives from China and India to attend Myanmar President’s swearing-in ceremony

Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy, Zhang Xinzhi, will attend the inauguration ceremony of Myanmar's president, Xinhua News Agency reported.

YANGON – Representatives from China and India will attend the President’s swearing-in ceremony.

The Indian Embassy has announced that the Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Minister of External Affairs, Mr. Kirti Vardhan Singh, arrived in Yangon on April 8 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Myanmar.

Upon his arrival in Yangon, Minister of State for External Affairs of the Government of India, Mr. Kirti Vardhan Singh was welcomed by the Indian Ambassador, Mr. Abhay Thakur, and the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U Zaw Phyo Win.

During his visit to Myanmar, Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr. Kirti Vardhan Singh will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Myanmar, meet senior officials of the Myanmar government, and meet friends of India, including those of Indian origin.

Similarly, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy, Zhang Xinzhi, will attend the inauguration ceremony of Myanmar’s president, Xinhua News Agency reported.

At the invitation of Myanmar, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Zhang Xinzhi will attend the presidential inauguration ceremony to be held in Nay Pyi Taw on April 10, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced on April 9, Xinhua News Agency reported.

At the Union Parliament session to be held on April 10, those elected as President and Vice Presidents, as well as those appointed as members of Union-level organizations, will take the oath of office before the Speaker of the Union Parliament.
