PETALING JAYA – An internal investigation has been initiated into a traffic policeman who was found carrying RM3,313 in cash while on duty.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that an inspection was conducted by the Bukit Aman integrity and standards compliance department on police from Petaling Jaya who were carrying out an anti-drink driving operation on Sunday (Feb 4).
“A traffic policeman with the rank of sergeant was found with RM3,313 in cash. A further RM440 was also found in a car,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Feb 4).
Comm Hussein Omar said an internal disciplinary investigation had been launched to determine if there was any corruption or breach of procedures involved.
He added that the policeman involved had been removed from enforcement departments until the investigation concludes.
