KUALA LUMPUR – Muda has made the decision to withdraw its support for the unity government and go it alone as a third force as a sign of protest against the discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) granted to Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Yayasan Akalbudi case.
“We cannot and will not tolerate this unprincipled move,” Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday (Sept 10).
“Let me be punished instead of losing my principles,” he added in his post.
Meanwhile, party sources said Muda pulling out support for the unity government was a long time coming.
“This has been a long time coming. Muda has had enough after Zahid’s case. It goes against the party’s principles,” said sources close to the development.
Even if it goes through with the move, Muda will not join Perikatan Nasional and is likely to remain as a third force.
MUDA telah membuat keputusan untuk jadi pembangkang 3rd Force sebagai tanda protes kerana kerajaan pada hari ini menggugurkan 47 kes rasuah.
Ini adalah permulaan untuk menormalisasikan rasuah.
