MANILA – Authorities looking into the disappearance of Catherine Camilon, a Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate who allegedly went missing last October 12, have yet to establish a lead, Tuy police chief Major Eugenio Napthali Solomon said Tuesday.
Citing police reports, Solomon said Camilon was reported missing by her mother and sister days after she went missing while traveling from Tuy to Batangas City on October 12.

“Wala pa po tayong malinaw na lead hinahanap pa po natin, tinitignan pa po lahat ng anggulo para matunton natin nasan si ma’am (Camilon),” Solomon admitted in an interview with Radyo 630.
(We have no clear lead yet. But we are looking at all possible angles to locate her.)
Solomon, however, assured that they already alerted police stations in nearby provinces and started tracking the registered owner of the vehicle Camilon drove when she disappeared.
“Tinutukoy pa natin itong registered owner nitong sasakyan dahil according sa pamilya ay hindi po sa kanilang anak nakarehistro ang pangalan. Tinutukoy pa po natin ang owner para matunton natin sino mismong tao ang napagbilihan para malaman natin kung ito ay na-install-an ng GPS para matrack natin,” the Tuy police chief said.
(We are looking into the registered owner of the car Camilon used because, according to the family, the vehicle is not registered under her name. We want to track the owner, so we’ll know if it has a GPS that we can track.)
He added that they have also checked the gasoline station in Bauan, where Camilon briefly parked to wait for a friend, but the CCTV cameras installed within the area do not work.
The beauty queen’s mother, Rosario, likewise said that this is where Camilon was last contacted at around 8:33 p.m. before she went missing.
In a separate interview with Radyo 630, Rosario pointed out that Camilon always updates the family on her whereabouts. She added that the beauty queen has no known enemies or even a boyfriend or partner she can run away with.
To hasten the search for Camilon, Solomon has sought the public’s help and advised them to report to nearby police stations if they have any leads or information on the beauty queen’s location.
He said the public may contact the family at 09158991931 and the Tuy Municipal Station at 09673141790. JMS
