Meanwhile, Cambodia's foreign minister said he planned to visit military-ruled Myanmar next month as a special regional envoy.
It was the first face-to-face Asean foreign ministers’ meeting held by Cambodia as Asean chairman for 2022.
Within the Asean framework, each member country has the right to propose a project that would benefit the region.
Member states had recently agreed to name Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn as the Asean special envoy to Myanmar.
Those who approve of Asean's approach number only slightly more than those in the opposing camp, the survey shows.
He also warned that the crisis could drag on for up to a decade, should the proposed solutions be too similar to previous ideas.
Asean had invited Myanmar to send a “non-political representative” to this week’s foreign ministers’ meeting.
While the upcoming Asean retreat will touch on various topics, the Myanmar coup crisis remains high on the agenda.
