BANGKOK – A Facebook user posted an ad recently promoting the sale of land with an old dilapidated “millionaire’s mansion” on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. The ad said the site provided stunning views of the Sappaya-Sapasathan or the meeting place of the National Assembly of Thailand (the Parliament).
The post read: “For Sale: Land by the Chao Phraya River – Soi Charan Sanitwong 74/1, Charan Sanitwong Road, Bang Ao, Bang Phlat, Bangkok 10700 – the entrance of Soi adjacent to MRT Bang Phlat. Actual area 1,480 square metres, as per title deed 1,132 square metres. Price: 200,000,000 baht (Transfer fee split equally between buyer and seller).
“Nearby amenities include MRT Bang Phlat, MRT Bang Ao, Meeting Mall, Tesco Lotus (Charan Sanitwong), Supreme Complex, Sri Yan Market, Thewet Fresh Market, Tung Hua Seng, Ratchawat Market, Yanhee Hospital, Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital, Nawaminthrathirat University, Vichaiyut Hospital, Bang Pho Hospital, Wichaiyut Hospital, and the National Cancer Institute.”
