ULAANBAATAR – Officials have reported that prolonged transport delays, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and uncoordinated operations at Mongolia’s border crossings are seriously hindering economic activity.
Truck drivers crossing the border are forced to stop an average of six times, resulting in a total delay of 136 hours per vehicle. According to experts, a single driver’s delay can disrupt the operations of more than 100 companies and enterprises linked to logistics and trade.
In response, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development N.Uchral has instructed relevant authorities to take concrete action and resolve the issue by September 31, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Government Supervision Department has launched border inspections and will present its findings and recommendations to the Cabinet.
