PETALING JAYA – The water at four rivers in Selangor have exceeded dangerous levels, namely Sungai Klang, Sungai Batang Kali and Sungai Tengi in Hulu Selangor as well as Sungai Langat in Kuala Langat.
Bernama TV also said on Facebook that water levels are continuing to rise at these rivers.
Meanwhile, about 120 victims are believed to be affected by flash foods in the villages of Kampung Jawa, Kampung Pasir and Sungai Dua Kerling estate in Hulu Selangor here on Monday (May 16).
The flash floods were the result of continuous heavy rain in the area.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said as of 4.25pm, rescue operations were still ongoing involving officers from the Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue station.
“We managed to rescue and remove three victims – two women and a three-year-old child in Kampung Jawa Kerling,” Norazam was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
Norazam said the rescue operation was also boosted by the involvement of eight extra officers from the Rawang and the Zone 6 Fire and Rescue stations.
He added that the department will continue to monitor the flash flood situation to ensure that no victims are left behind.
