BAHRAICH – Panic gripped a village in Bahraich once again after a wolf attacked a young child in broad daylight.

On Tuesday afternoon, a 3-year-old boy playing outside his house in Baba Bangla village, under Kaiserganj tehsil, was suddenly snatched by a wolf in front of his mother.

According to eyewitnesses, the child, Prince, son of Raksharam, was playing near the house while family members sat nearby.

Around 1:30 PM, a wolf silently approached and grabbed the child in its jaws. Hearing the child’s screams, the family and villagers raised an alarm and chased the animal with sticks and sickles.

After running about 100 meters, the wolf dropped the child and fled towards the fields. Covered in blood and injured, the child was immediately taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kaiserganj, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

This is the second such attack within three days in the area. In a previous incident, another child went missing after a wolf attack and has not yet been found. The recurring attacks have left villagers in a state of fear and anger.

Locals have informed the forest department, while villagers, armed with sticks and sharp weapons, are patrolling the area in search of the wolf. Residents are demanding urgent intervention from authorities to prevent further tragedies.

The forest department has not yet issued a formal statement on the matter.
