The feat, confirmed by the Alpine Club of Pakistan, marks Sajid Sadpara’s ninth 8,000m peak, all of which were climbed without bottled oxygen and were completely unsupported.
The 65-year-old climber, Onishi Hiroshi, fell into the crevasse near Camp-2 after summit of Golden Peak on July 3.
Kiani achieved this as she successfully climbed Nepal’s Makalu Peak, the world’s fifth-tallest mountain at 8,485 metres tall.
Protesters have demanded a reversal of the wheat price hike as well as fulfilment of other critical needs.
Last month, the two had also successfully completed the ascent of the world’s eighth-highest peak, 8,163m-tall Mt Manaslu, in Nepal.
According to mountaineering company Seven Summit Treks, which spearheaded the climb, the husband-wife duo successfully climbed the peak today along with three Sherpas.
The women overcame hazardous terrain, severe weather, and a plethora of challenges during the journey.
