BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – A company was issued a compound fine of BND500, under the Town and Country Planning (Composition of Offences) Regulations 2018, after failing to comply with regulations set by the Planning Authority.

Before the compound fine was issued, the company was warned by the authority, as the company had violated regulations by placing and displaying goods along pedestrian walkways, creating potential hazards to the public due to obstructed and unclean flooring conditions. The Town and Country Planning Department noted that these actions can have a negative impact on the aesthetic value and overall appearance of commercial areas in the
country.

The offenders are given seven days from the date the compound notice is issued to settle the fine.

The public, particularly companies and owners of commercial and industrial buildings, are reminded to adhere to planning laws, in place to ensure that the cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal of business areas across the country are maintained. – DANIEL LIM
