Bail was set at 9 million US dollars.

The Tokyo District Court on Tuesday approved the release on bail of Carlos Ghosn, the former Nissan Motor Co. chairman.

Bail was set at ¥1 billion (about $9 million).

Ghosn has been charged with aggravated breach of trust in violation of the Companies Law for allegedly causing damage to Nissan after transferring his personal investment loss to the company.

This third request for release on bail was filed on Feb. 28 by Ghosn’s attorneys.
