HONG KONG – Hong Kong’s swimming star Siobhan Bernadette Haughey won seven gold medals at the FINA Swimming World Cup 2022.

Haughey took seven gold medals and a bronze in the Women’s 100m, 200m and 400m Freestyle Swimming events in the Berlin leg in Germany, the Toronto leg in Canada and the Indianapolis leg in the United States, respectively.

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Kevin Yeung Yun-hung congratulated Haughey on her remarkable performance.

“Siobhan Bernadette Haughey made a splash in all three legs of the World Cup, displaying her unparalleled strength and a master’s demeanor by her outstanding achievements and glamour,” Yeung said.

“She has told a good story in the international sports arena of how Hong Kong athletes strive for excellence. We are thrilled and so proud of her accomplishment. I also sincerely wish her success in the FINA World Swimming Championships to be held next month,” he added.
