KATHMANDU – Phagu Purnima, commonly referred to as Holi, is being joyously celebrated in Kathmandu Valley and various other hilly regions on Sunday, with great enthusiasm and festivity.

During the festival, people traditionally apply red vermilion powder and engage in playful activities such as throwing coloured powder and water-filled balloons at each other. This celebration symbolises the victory of good over evil and signifies spring’s onset.

Revellers have gathered at different places in the Capital to play Holi.
