MANILA – Supporters of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte made opposing calls in front of the Senate compound on Tuesday afternoon.

This came after the Senate granted protective custody to Sen. Bato Dela Rosa on Monday—an ally of the Dutertes.

Outside a barricade of 1,200 police officers securing the Senate gate, Marcos supporters called for Dela Rosa’s arrest after the International Criminal Court (ICC) confirmed a warrant for the senator.

They also called for the impeachment of the vice president.

Some banners read: “SARA LITISIN” and “NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW BATO ARESTUHIN.”

On the opposite side of the police line, Duterte supporters expressed support for both Dela Rosa and Duterte.

The Duterte supporters also began mocking the Marcos supporters, calling them “bangag,” “bayaran,” and other insults.

In response, some Marcos supporters told them to leave, while others raised their middle fingers.
