‘Mekong-Ganga’ India-Burma Food Culture Festival held at the Ministers’ Office in Yangon

The cultural festival featured a total of 46 booths, including Burmese food booths, Indian food booths, souvenir booths, handicrafts, and clothing booths .

NAYPYIDAW – The ‘ Mekong – Ganges ‘ India – Burmese Food Culture Festival was held at 5 pm on February 23 at The Secretariat building, the office of the ministers on Thein Phyu Road , Yangon .

The ‘ Mekong – Ganga ‘ India – Burma Food Culture Festival is organized by the Embassy of India in Yangon in collaboration with the Women of Indian Origin Association in Yangon and the Myanmar Business Women Network .

The event was attended by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win, Indian Ambassador HEMr.Abhay Thakur , officials from the Yangon Region Government , ambassadors and diplomats from foreign embassies , officials from the Yangon Indian Women’s Association and the Myanmar Business Women’s Network .

The cultural festival featured a total of 46 booths, including Burmese food booths, Indian food booths, souvenir booths, handicrafts, and clothing booths .

In addition, Indian cultural groups entertained visitors to the India – Burma Food and Culture Festival with traditional Indian dances and songs, while Myanmar cultural groups performed puppet shows and cultural dances with a welcome song .

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win said at the event that today’s food festival is a good initiative for the development of tourism between Myanmar and India. The ministry is implementing tourism promotion programs like the ASEAN Food Festival in Myanmar through public-private partnerships to promote tourism. He said that he believes that today ‘s festival will further strengthen bilateral relations and create new opportunities for cultural exchange and tourism development .
