KATHMANDU – Deuda festival was held at Kathmandu’s Tundikhel on Thursday to celebrate and preserve the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of Nepal’s Sudurpaschim and Karnali regions.

Organised by the Bajhangi Society Kathmandu, the event featured traditional Deuda songs and dances, an integral part of the region’s identity.

The celebration aimed at promoting awareness and appreciation for the region’s unique customs among the wider public.

Deuda is traditionally observed on the first day of the Nepali month of Shrawan (July 17 this year). The Karnali Province government marked the day with a public holiday.
