KATHMANDU – Muslim communities across Nepal are celebrating Eid ul-Fitr on Monday, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan with prayers and festivities.

Devotees gathered at mosques and Eidgahs early in the morning, performing communal prayers and exchanging greetings. Eid ul-Fitr is one of the most important festivals in Islam, observed at the conclusion of a month-long fast.

In Kathmandu, large congregations were seen at Jame Mosque and Tundikhel, while mosques across the country drew significant crowds.

The government declared a public holiday on the occasion. During Ramadan, Muslims observe fasting from dawn to dusk, focusing on spiritual purification, charity, and self-discipline.

In Nepalgunj, the Eidgah Mosque at BP Chowk was adorned for the celebrations, with worshippers filling the premises.

Here are some pictures by Deepak KC in Kathmandu and Rupa Gahatraj in Nepalgunj.
