The launches came after North Korea publicly justified its flurry of missile test launches as a “planned self-defensive” action against US military threats.

The redeployment came after Pyongyang fired a ballistic missile over Japan earlier this week, its first IRBM launch in eight months.
Recent North Korean missiles have been conspicuous for their low-altitude and irregular trajectories aimed at evading radar and missile defense networks.
The multibillion-dollar deal reached in Sept last year was heralded as a key component of the new strategic partnership of Australia, the UK and the US.
